I am woman, I love hockey

Apparently the ice age is upon us more so than we realize, and I'm not talking about the dumping of snow we've gotten here in the great lakes area and even into north west Pennsylvania. Why do you ask? Because it's come to my attention that there are still cavemen roaming around north America somewhere, under the guise of the name Anonymous.

You may spot this neanderthal about, check for knuckles dragging on the ground.

Ah, but I do jest. Or not.

So it's like this. My "friend" Mr Anonymous has accused me of being a woman (gasp!) who should not be talking about sports, because according to his limited thinking, us ladies don't know what we're talking about.

I'm guessing he's never met a woman who knew what she was talking about, if he's had a conversation with one at all.

His childish remarks do nothing more than amuse me. They're meant to hurt I guess, but me and my husband and I had a good laugh at his expense, as his backwards way of thinking is just that... backwards.

I am by far a women's libber, I like being feminine and girlie, and adore the color pink, and above all being treated like a lady by my husband. In contrast I am also a raging hockey fanatic.

Can a woman live such a contrasting life? Sure they can, and they can be knowledgeable at the same time. I am the first to admit I am not the most articulate when it comes to talking about stats etc... but I know them, and I understand them. And any one that knows me well enough will tell you, I definitely know my hockey.

Hey, I'm not claiming to be the know all, tell all here. I'm just not letting some doofus get off thinking I don't know the sport I love. (and on a blog post that's over 8 months old under the guise of "anonymous")

If you want stats out the wazoo, try google and find a good site. If you're looking for a website with girls gushing how hot this player is or how cute that one is, or what they all do on their off time you can find that too.

But you'll not find that here. Simply put this is just a fan blog, for my beloved Pittsburgh Penguins. Is it the greatest, hell no. It is mine, and I make no apologies for anything I put here.

And to Mr. Anonymous, I make no apologies for being a woman either. I won't even go into him calling me a retard.... lol... About as original as the Crosby haters calling Sidney a crybaby.

With all that said, it's a hockey night in Pittsburgh...

do Buffaslugs leave a trail?

With just six games left before the Olympic break, the Penguins go into tonights game against the Buffalo Sabres seeking to add to the number of wins.

After winning yesterday against the Red Wings in a shootout (did you know those two teams met for some other important game about 7 months ago? If you didn't you were reminded of that fact about every 5 minutes) the Pens power play had best be in tip top shape. Yesterday after a couple early chances they didn't capitalize on, it still seems to need some work after improving only slightly.

Buffalo is hot right now, third in the Eastern conference right ahead of the Penguins who are in fourth.

Not much to be said really, the Buffaslugs have their snipers in Vanek and Roy, and the talented Jason Pominville and Tim Connolly (Go Otters!) So Brent Johnson is going to need to be in top notch form tonight.

And specialness.... after enduring NBC's broadcast yesterday, tonight the game is on Versus, and being a Directv customer... yep, I don't get to see it. So it's online watching again for me.

Game time is close...

PENS beat WINGS 2-1(SO). GOALS: S.CROSBY(34,SOW). FLEURY: 23 saves. STARS: 3)M.FLEURY 2)J.HOWARD 1)S.CROSBY. Next game tomorrow vs BUF @7:00
